Q01 Do you only do insurance restoration work?
No. Renovations, commercial rebuilds, and tenant buildouts are a core part of what we do, and most of those projects have nothing to do with a claim. Insurance restoration is one of the services we offer, not the only one. Two licensed contractors cover all of your residential and commercial building needs.
Q02 Do you handle commercial buildouts and tenant improvements?
Yes. We handle white-box and full tenant buildouts, storefront and office renovations, tenant improvements, and complete commercial rebuilds. We manage permitting through punchlist and write the schedule around keeping your business open wherever that is possible.
Q03 Can you do a renovation that is not tied to any damage?
Absolutely. Kitchens, baths, whole-home renovations, additions, and custom builds are all standard work for us. We help with material selection, keep the schedule honest, and keep you talking to the same project manager from the first walk-through to the last one.
Q04 On an insurance claim, how much is this going to cost me?
Once we come to an agreed-to price with your insurance company, you are only responsible for the amount of your deductible. Your insurance will cover the rest. On renovation and buildout work that is not tied to a claim, you get a written estimate up front and the price is agreed before any work starts.
Q05 How long is this going to take?
Once we come to an agreed-to price with your insurance adjuster we will start work immediately. Prior to that point your project manager will have been working with you making selections and scheduling subcontractors. Each project varies, but from start to finish an average water loss typically takes four to six weeks.
Q06 I can't live in my house. What am I supposed to do?
This would be a question for your insurance company since we do not know what your particular policy reads. However, some policies do provide a housing allowance during these situations and we can help you confirm coverage.
Q07 Can I upgrade flooring to hardwood or tile instead of putting the carpet back?
Yes. A lot of the time, because we buy at such volume, we can get great prices and you would only pay the difference. The amount would be discussed and agreed to before any work is started.
Q08 Can I use my own subcontractor (painter, carpet installer, etc.)?
JMS Building Corporation has built our business on a solid reputation and that is because we use appropriate, licensed subcontractors, professional workmanship, and dedicated project managers. We stand behind our work and to warranty our work, it has to be our work. This protects both JMS Building Corporation and the property owner.

Yes, we do. JMS Building Corporation has two licensed contractors that can fulfill all of your residential and commercial building needs.

Yes, we can. JMS Building Corporation has two licensed contractors that can fulfill all of your residential and commercial building needs.
Q11 What is your warranty?
JMS Building Corporation warrants that all materials will be new materials unless otherwise specified, and that all materials and labor are warranted for a period of one year from the date the contractor gives the owners Notice of Substantial Completion.

Q14 What types of damage do you restore?
We provide full insurance restoration construction for damage caused by fire, weather, water, vandalism, burglary, and vehicle impact, for both residential and commercial properties.
Q15 Do you work directly with my insurance company?
Yes. We prepare a computerized, detailed restoration estimate built on years of Xactimate experience and submit it directly to your insurance company, then work with your carrier to make sure you receive a fair and equitable settlement to restore your property properly.
Q16 Do you handle commercial properties as well as homes?
Yes. JMS Building Corporation has two licensed contractors that can fulfill all of your residential and commercial building needs, from insurance restoration to remodels and new construction.
Q17 Who will manage my project?
One project manager. One point of contact. Direct access to ownership. Your project manager runs framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and finishes through completion, and walks every detail with you before close-out.
